The lovely Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day! made this cute garland out of felt balls. The color possibilities are endless. This is a fun and easy craft that anyone who can handle and needle and thread could do. It's great for Christmas or any occasion. Wouldn't those shiny felt balls add some sparkle to your tree?

The World is Listening
"I want to remind us all that the world is listening, all the time. How we are ripples out from us into the world and affects others. We have a responsibility - an ability to respond - to the world. Finding our particular way of living this responsibility, of offering who we are to the world, is why we are here. We are called because the world needs us to embody the meaning in our lives. God needs us awake. The world we live in is a co-creation, a manifestation of individual consciousness woven into a collective dream. How we are with each other as individuals, as groups, as nations and tribes, is what shapes that dream."

Istanbul
Holly Becker, from the blog decor8, went on a wonderful holiday to Istanbul, Turkey. These are some of her photos that I found particularly fabulous. I LOVE all the color! The textiles remind me of the gorgeous bedding from Anthropologie that I love so much. I can honestly say I didn't put Istanbul high on my places-to-go list before, or on it at all actually, but now it's near the top!

Monty
This is Monty. Last Friday we had to put him down due to a horrible cancer that was giving him a lot of pain. He was a very loving dog who loved to scratch his back on the grass and chase tennis balls in the orchard. We will miss him.

Fall Color
I was a little early this morning so while my car was warming up I took some pictures of the Fall color around my yard. I love watching the leaves change day by day, slowly turning into a frenzy of color. It makes the cooler weather and shorter days more bearable.

I love your...business card!
It's always nice to get a hand written note. It really means something in these digital days! This business card was made by Jennifer Armbrust of Motel Projects. It has her contact information on the back and on the front she can write a personal note. Beautiful. Touching. Genius.
Love it!

Winter Coat
I'm in LOVE with this coat by BB Dakota. Wit & Whimsy posted it and I can't stop thinking about it!
Books to Read Before You Go
Once I start planning a trip I just want to leave right away. It's so hard for me to be patient! I am working on enjoying the wait but it is so difficult that I need some help. One thing that helps me is reading novels set in the country/city/region or written by authors from where I'll be travelling. I think the former is best. I love to see the destination through a different perspective other than all the photography I see online or in travel guides. Photographs can tell stories but, in my opinion, they can't even come close to a novel.
It can be so hard to find a good novel about a destination. I have searched the web many times trying to find something worth while and insightful, only to be disheartened from many unfruitful searches.
Planning a trip? Wish you could plan a trip? Either way, you can still be transported there by a book.
GO READ! :)

My Dream Library
As some of you know, I'm a little obsessed with books. I love stories. I believe a book can take you to a place unlike any other! Every book is a new adventure! Books can take you to far away places and even into other people's minds, which I think is absolutely extraordinary!
I have great aspirations to have my very own library with many, many books when I am older. This picture is like my totally-epic-wonderful-dream version of this hypothetical, future library. It's something to look forward to. :)
Red Kitchen
I love a red kitchen. My future inlaws have red cabinets in their kitchen and I've loved them since the first time I visited their house over three years ago. I think this checkered floor goes well with the bold cabinet color. I also love all the fresh greens everywhere! If I owned my house, I'd have red cabinets too.

Ballerinas in the Big Apple
This is a photo from the very cool Ballerina Project. It seems like almost every girl, including myself, has dreamed of being a ballerina, or at least wearing the tutu, at some point in their lives. (I think we can be sure of this due to the vast number of tutus that pop up in random Halloween costumes every year.)
I love the mix of elegance and industrial elements in the photo above.
"The Ballerina Project grew from the idea of New York City as a magnet for creativity; each photograph is a collaborative work of dance, fashion design and photography played out against the city's landscape."

Have A Happy Weekend
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Spencer and I are going to a BBQ this weekend at my cousin's house. It should be fun as long as the weather cooperates! Rain is in the forecast...
Isn't this picture awesome? I wish that guy was Spencer and he was bringing me all those flowers! I think if that really happened I would flip with excitement! Flowers are some of my favorite things on this planet.

A Magical Night
This picture is so captivating. I love the stars peeking through the branches and the light spots make it so magical. It really is a beautiful photo. It makes me think of all the magical nights I've had....like the night I got engaged, the night I went swimming in bioluminescent bay in Puerto Rico and the water glowed blue, and the many nights I've spent marvelling at the Milky Way while camping and my Grandpa's ranch.

Engagement Pictures
Here are our DIY engagement photos!! We used black and white versions of 1, 2, & 5 for our save the date. We hauled a ladder around in the back pasture and put the camera's timer on. It was a lot of fun! It was back in the summertime so the night was warm. We took a zillion pictures but we only got a few good ones. These are some of my favorites.

Lovely Brown Shoes
I'm totally loving these shoes from Common Projects! They would look so cute with pants and skirts/dresses. I like that the heel isn't too high as well; high, high heels hurt my feet too much.

Honeymoon in Brazil
We are going to Brazil for our honeymoon!!! I am so excited to travel again and to go back to South America. Spencer has never been but I'm sure he'll like it. I've been researching things to do and places to go and bought the Loney Planet (of course!) but I would LOVE more suggestions. Currently, we are planning on going to Manaus to trek in the Amazon like explorers, Rio de Janeiro to lounge on beaches and dance all night, and Iguazu Falls to take in one of the great wonders of the world.
Have you been to Brazil? Leave a comment and tell me about your favorite thing you did! I'm sure you will all have some wonderful suggestions. Thank you!
