Friday Flower: Tiny Orange Morning Glory

This is, with out a doubt, the smallest morning glory in the land. I love the bright orange color and the fact that this adorable little life form was growing on quite possibly the ugliest man made fence on the planet. It caught my eye as we were walking to the bamboo forest in Damyang.

Get excited, folks! I've decided to add a little something extra to the Friday Flower posts--fun links! I've seen other bloggers do it and, well frankly, I'm jumping on that bandwagon. I think it's a fun way to showcase other blogs and cool things I find while browsing internet.

I hope you enjoy them and have a fabulous weekend!

Friday Flower: Hydrangeas

These flowers are the brightest, most bubble gum pink hydrangeas I have ever seen! I remember positively gawking at them when I first sighted them.

I took these pictures back in 2006 so I can't be entirely sure, but I believe these were growing in a courtyard somewhere near the Bayeux Tapestry museum in Bayeux, Normandy, France.

Friday Flower: Purple Explosions

These tiny purple explosions are amazing. I love the way they burst open like fireworks but are so delicate and feminine at the same time. They're stunning!

I took this photo while visiting Monet's house in Giverny, France. I don't know what this little beauty is called and if you do, please let me know in the comments!

Isn't this flower striking? I love that the photo has a growing bud in it too, so beautiful to see life progressing. I don't know what kind of flower this is...do you? If you know, I would love to hear from you! Please leave a comment! :)

I hope you all have a glorious Fourth of July weekend!!!

This is a photo taken in France by Gabrielle of Design Mom.

Friday Flower - Sweet Pea

My favorite part about sweet peas are their wonderfully sweet smell. It's so refreashing and lovely to smell them on a warm summer day. I also love all the different colors that sweet peas can be.

My mom has some very fond memories of her grandmother's sweet peas so she planted some seeds this spring. They sure do grow fast! I'm hoping they will be blooming in time for our wedding at the end of the month.

I love them in these two bouquets. They look like little puff balls and I'm sure they smell amazing!

What do you think about sweet peas? I would love to hear! :)

Friday Flower - California Poppy

This week's Friday flower is the California poppy! I've been seeing these babies everywhere lately: on the side of the road, in my yard, in everyone's gardens on my way to work, at my mom's house, on the side of the freeway....you get the point. There is a reason why this is the state flower of California! :)

I really love the bright pops of color they give off. It's especially nice at this time because not a lot of flowers have really started blooming yet. This is still the early stages of Spring here in Northen California. All the blossoms on the trees have faded away and just a few things are daring to bloom.

Luckily the poppies will last a long time if you water them. They could even last all summer if a gopher doesn't eat its roots off.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Friday Flower - Ranunculus

I love the multi-petaled ranunculus the best. All those petals are so dreamy and lush and all the bright colors make me swoon. The look like crepe paper, so delicate!

Fun fact: buttercups are a part of the ranunculus family as well.
