S. Korean Craft Store
On the walk home from work on Tuesday Spencer suggested we take a different route home. If we got lost we could always just hop in a cab so I agreed. I am so happy I obliged because we found a craft store!!! :)
I am so happy to have found art supplies in Suncheon. When we interviewed for the positions, I asked another English teacher if there were any craft stores in the city. He said, "oh, the school will have everything you need." I'm sure he thought I was thinking of art projects for the students but I was thinking about art projects for me! I didn't bring it up again but was a little disappointed that he didn't automatically say, "oh yeah, there are tons of craft stores!" I figured I would have to go to bigger cities to find materials.
I was so happy in that store! I wanted to look at everything and buy paints, brushes, stamps, stickers, colorful paper, paint pens, and tons of other things! Unfortunately, we haven't gotten paid yet, it was getting dark, and Spencer was tired (well, I was tired too but I was on a creative high!) so we went home. I took pictures of the store sign, the stores across the street, the high rise apartments near it, and tried to memorize the whole walk home so I would know exactly how to get back.
You better believe that I will be back the day after payday!

Blue Ball Jar Lights are Beautiful
I love blue vintage mason jars! The color is so beautiful and I love (almost) anything vintage. I think the red cord accents the clear blue jars perfectly. It would look great in a set of three over a kitchen island or a single one in a pantry or coat closet. Wouldn't it be a nice surprise for guests to see when they go to get their coats at the end of a dinner party?
The lights above are made by Earth Sea Warrior, who resides in Brooklyn, New York. You can purchase the lights pictured above along with many other neo-nostalgic light fixtures on their Etsy account here.

The Battle of the Pretty Striped Dresses
I've had a crush on this Marc Jacobs dress for over a month now but with my budget, I knew I could never afford it. I was so happy when I came across this Ruche version for significantly less money and a lot of charm. It's the perfect summer dress for all those sweltering days and warm nights.

Sailing the Seas
Are you taking any trips to the sea this summer? I sure hope so. The beach is such a nice place to contemplate life and relax. I love the feeling of sand between my toes and a cold drink in my hand while watching the sunset. Ahhh, sweet summer!
2. Anchor Tote - it's made from recycled sails! How cool is that??

Beautiful Doors
I love interesting doors. If the colors are fantastic or the hinges are beautiful, I swoon. Wouldn't it be cool to have various working antique doors in a house? If I ever own one (a house, that is), I might have to do it!
As for the quote from William Blake, I think perceptions are so interesting. I love how every single person builds on their perceptions unknowingly and unwillingly everyday. Imagine how beautiful and interesting life could be if we lived one day without all our accumulated perceptions and preconceived notions....

Rain Boots
It has been raining pretty much non-stop since Friday in Suncheon. On Saturday, it rained over 13 inches in a 24 hour period. Can you believe that??! THIRTEEN inches!!!
So, I've decided I need some rain boots. It will work out perfectly because when I go to work, I have a separate pair of indoor shoes that I leave there. My feet will stay dry and I won't even have to carry extra shoes around! It's a win-win!
Now if I could only find some boots as cute as these in Korea....

A Charming Cruise
I've been dreaming of summer bike rides all week. It's very stormy here in Suncheon and we haven't seen the sun in quite a few days. Oh, what I would give for this beach cruiser on the boardwalk in San Diego right now!

Stamping Cookies
This is a marvelous idea! What a fun and easy way to make custom cookies for a gift or event. Imagine letter stamps to create a special message, a favorite flower, a holiday design, or even a hand made stamp to make it even more personal and special. Wouldn't it be lovely to have custom, hand-made cookies wrapped up in wax paper and pretty ribbon? Such a treat!

Cutsie Korean Stuff
There are some very cute things in South Korea. All the little girls at school have super cute pencil cases (I really want a pencil case...more on that later) and hair accessories and the boys love to wear pink and paint their nails! I haven't made it to a toy store yet but I can't wait to see what they have! I love all the cutsie stuff and just could not resist when I saw these cute little animal stickers and candies. This stuff is so fun!

I hope all you lovely Americans have a great Fourth of July and that you got the day off work today. Three day weekends are the best! I, however, do not have the day off but will still celebrate by looking up fireworks shows on YouTube with my husband.
